1One of the most historic hotels in the city of Boston! The Hilton Boston Park Plaza is seeking an Overnight Front Office Manager to join their Front Office team! This 1060 room property has a premier Back Bay location just steps away from the Boston Common and the Public Garden and a half-mile from Beacon Hill and the Theater District are within a half-mile. 

The ideal candidate should possess a unique blend of skills and qualities suited to managing operations during the night shift. Here are some key qualities we are looking for!

  Experience: Previous experience in hotel operations or a related field is essential. Experience in a supervisory or managerial role is also beneficial.

  1. Leadership Skills: The overnight manager should be able to lead and motivate a team effectively, even during non-traditional working hours. They should be capable of making decisions and handling issues that arise during the night shift.

  2. Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to think quickly and solve problems efficiently is crucial, as issues may arise that require immediate attention, such as guest complaints or maintenance emergencies.

  3. Customer Service Skills: While the overnight manager may have fewer guest interactions than daytime staff, they should still possess strong customer service skills to handle any guest inquiries or issues that arise during the night.

  4. Communication Skills: Clear communication is essential for coordinating with other hotel staff, including the front desk, housekeeping, and security, to ensure a smooth operation during the night.

What will I be doing?

As Overnight Front Office Manager, you would be responsible for directing and administering Front Office operations in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage all Front Office operations to include, but not limited to, guest service and registration (check-in/check-out), room inventory and availability, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with Company standards
  • Meet and greet guests and respond to guest inquiries, requests and issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner and resolves guest concerns
  • Initiate and implement up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities to maximize room occupancy and overall revenue
  • Ensure team members have current knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing and policies and knowledge of the local area and events
  • Complete audit procedures, as needed
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
